Congratulations! You’ve got your Cradlewise, set it up, and your baby is loving it. Whether you’re new to Cradlewise or have had yours for a while, it’s likely time to consider its cleaning and maintenance. Maybe your little one had a blowout or spit up, or maybe, you just wondered how to take care of the crib to ensure it’s a clean, safe environment for your baby.

Does Cradlewise have specific cleaning instructions? Yes, it certainly does. The mattress, mattress core and cover, crib mesh, bedding, and hardware have separate care instructions, and we strongly recommend following them to guarantee the crib’s longevity over time. Today, we’re covering exactly how you can clean each part of your Cradlewise smart crib. Let’s get into it.

Cleaning the wooden crib frame and camera

Ensuring your baby’s sleeping environment is clean and safe is paramount, especially when it involves their crib. The Cradlewise crib, with its wooden frame and integrated camera, requires careful cleaning to maintain its functionality and aesthetics. Here, we’ll guide you through the recommended steps to effectively clean your Cradlewise:

When it comes to cleaning the body of your Cradlewise, you should:

  1. Either wipe the wood frame and camera with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) or use a cloth dipped in mild soapy water.

Note: The cloth should not be dripping wet, but rather, slightly damp because Cradlewise relies on electricity, and excess liquids could seep into the electronics and damage the crib).

With these methods, you don’t have to worry about staining any of the hardware.
  1. Additionally, avoid using harsh cleaners or chemicals as these could damage the finish of the plywood and plastics.

Using safe cleaning methods protects both the sophisticated design and the electronic components of the crib.

Cleaning the knitted cotton mattress cover, fitted sheet, and bassinet/crib mesh

The knitted cotton mattress cover, fitted sheet, and bassinet/crib mesh require gentle handling to maintain their quality and ensure they remain cozy and clean for your little one.

Here’s how to properly clean and care for these essential items, ensuring they last and provide the best environment for your baby:

  1. Machine wash the mattress cover, fitted sheet, bassinet, and crib mesh, on a cold, gentle cycle.
  2. Either wash these items separately or with similar colored laundry in cold water.
  3. Do not use bleach.
  4. Tumble drying is okay but without heat.
  5. Do not iron these items.
  6. Ensure the mattress cover is completely dry before using it again.

Cleaning the mattress core

Your Cradlewise comes with an organic crib mattress made from coconut coir and organic rubber latex. It is 100% organic and biodegradable. Therefore, the care instructions are very specific.

The steps involved in cleaning the mattress core are as follows:

  1. Firstly, do not remove the cotton cover for the mattress core.
  2. Use only a soft, dry cloth to remove dust from the mattress core.
  3. Do not wash or use a damp cloth to clean the mattress surface.
  4. Do not bleach.
  5. Do not iron.
  6. Do not dry clean.
